i finished reading “the pages” by murray bail at long last. it took a while because the first half was warbling and frustratingly disconnected – it’s like the author himself had no idea where he was taking it. but the second half intrigued me. the writing itself was still horribly perforated, but the direction and focus the story took was very interesting. it was no pirsig, but it has earned it’s place on the ‘read again’ pile of books. might skip a few chapters though.
p.s., i thought that jumping straight into hard text might distract from the fact that it’s been a while between posts. i hope it worked…
